You’ve Cat to be Kitten Me!

Within the past year, Kathryn and I have developed somewhat of a tradition with our friends Paige and Eric. It began with a shared interest in bar trivia, which we have tried to maintain on a biweekly basis at our favorite dive. On the weeks where the trivia night fails, we’ll compromise for a different kind of get-together, whether it’s a normal dinner or playing on our Switch at home.

This week, we once again struck out on bar trivia, relegating us to dinner and board games. This couldn’t have played out better in our favor, however; it turns out Eric and Paige had recently adopted a cat, and we were headed over to meet him!

Enter Pickles.

What’s the Dill?

Pickles, formerly Juno, was adopted from the local cat cafe last week. We’ve known for a while that the pair were thinking about adopting a cat:

We’re going to adopt a cat! It wouldn’t make sense to adopt one before Christmas though…

It’s January now, so we’ll probably adopt in February!

February sure flew by, didn’t it?

We can’t adopt a cat right now, we’re about to move!

And move they did, which was truly the last hurdle to acquiring a new handsome feline.

If you’re reading this right now, it means I’m typing on mobile and haven’t gotten to my computer to upload Pickles’ picture. I understand this whole post is leading up to that, so please check again later and I promise this will be replaced with a picture.

Pickles is just shy of a year old. Despite his wariness to the commonalities of house life, he seems to be accustoming very well. I played with him using a toy he had been afraid of only a few days prior. He’s a boy with much to say, but only with meows and purrs in lieu of hisses and yowls. He has an affinity for belly rubs, and also Kathryn, as it turns out. He leapt into her lap during our game and proceeded to get comfortable.

I am very pleased to have met Pickles and equally pleased to see that his future is in wonderful hands. I’m so excited to watch him grow and become an integral member of his new family!
