It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s David Byrne
Tuesdays are my wild card of the week. Most weeks, it merely serves as Second Monday, another run in the machine without the off ramp of Friday in sight. Other weeks might include livelier events; Tuesday can mean trivia night, a concert, a craft at home. This week, however, was about Dungeons and Dragons. At least on the surface, it was…
Natural Twenties
It’s rather typical for our D&D group to meet on a biweekly basis. While Morgan (our DM) and I could walk to each other if we wanted to, Mark lives a half hour away. Once you factor in Joey living a full hour away, it gets difficult to schedule any session. I count my blessings that we can still play together as often as we do.
Most sessions are hosted at Morgan’s place. He is the DM, after all. We decided to host at my place this week, though; Kathryn had a work trip to and from the Charlotte airport that night, and I would have felt terrible leaving Willa in her crate all day. Many pizzas, beers, and laughs later, our session came to a close and I bid my friends adieu. I’m toying with the idea of dedicating a tab on my website to the events that happen in our campaign… perhaps that will be coming soon?
You May Find Yourself In a Beautiful House
It’s late at this point, yet bedtime is nowhere near. My sweet fiancé has hit traffic on her way home from the airport. This would have been a lonely task, if not for my little sister Emma Lou and her boyfriend Dominic. They had only recently acquired tickets to see David Byrne that night and were seeking a place to stay after, which worked out great with my own schedule! We all got to chit chat as we waited for Kathryn to get home, gabbed a little more once she did, and finally headed to bed.
As I write this, the ill effects of sleep deprivation grow stronger. I don’t mind it at all. It’s not every day I can see my friends, family, and loved ones all at my house.
